Steps for a Successful Registration for Cal Poly Pomona Students

Registration and fee payment for Cal Poly Pomona students will be done through BroncoDirect. The waitlist function in PeopleSoft will not be on for registration for the Special Summer Session 2009.

  1. Pay any outstanding balance on your Cal Poly Pomona student account.
Students with outstanding balances will not be able to register until balance is paid.

  2. Check for and clear holds prior to registration.
Students with registration holds will not be able to register until holds are removed.

  3. Check that you have met the pre-requisites or co-requisites for the course.
This information can be found in the University Catalog.

  4. Pay attention to add, drop and refund deadlines as the registration period is very condensed.

  5. Watch your Cal Poly Pomona e-mails to keep informed of your course schedule. Some courses with low enrollments may be cancelled.

  6. You will see “instructor consent required” if you attempt to register on July 1 and 2. Students who were previously enrolled in that course in the regular summer quarter have already been given the permission needed to enroll in the courses. If you were not initially enrolled in the course, then you will have the opportunity to enroll it that class beginning July 6. There may be a few courses that do indeed require instructor consent during the open enrollment time period, if, at that time, a class requires instructor consent, you would contact the department.

  7. If the class you want is full, continue to check back to see if a seat has become available and/or contact the academic department of the course to put your name on a waiting list. The waitlist function in PeopleSoft will not be on for this Special Summer registration period.

  8. If you receive this message (Invalid Course Number), this may mean that you entered the incorrect course number OR that the class is full. Check the course number first and if it was entered correctly, contact the academic department offering the course to put your name on a waiting list.

  9. Make sure that you attend the first day of each class in which you enroll. Instructors may administratively withdraw students from their class for non-attendance on the first day.

Fee Payment for Cal Poly Pomona

  1. If you are receiving financial aid, check to make sure that your award has been finalized
by checking your account on BroncoDirect or contacting the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.

  2. If all or a portion of your fees are being paid by a 3rd party vendon or external organization, provide documentation to the Student Accounting Office of the amount you are eligible to receive for enrollment in courses through Cal Poly Pomona’s Extended University.

  3. Pay fees by fee payment deadline or your enrollment in courses will be dropped.
Your fees will appear on your account through BroncoDirect within 24 hours of your registration.

  4. If you wish to receive a refund for a dropped or cancelled course, carefully check the drop and refund deadlines.
