Minimum Wage Increase

Effective January 1, 2007, the California minimum wage increased to $7.50 per hour. Consistent with this change, the California State University changed the salary range minimums for all student assistant classifications to $7.50 per hour. These salary rate increases have no effect on individual pay rates unless the student assistant's hourly rate is currently below the new salary range minimum.

Based on this change, for any student assistants and work-study student assistants with an hourly rate below $7.50, Payroll Services has processed pay rate changes to bring their hourly rate to the new minimum.

The Career Center maintains guidelines for student employment on-campus job classifications and their guidelines have been updated to include the new salary ranges. For additional information on the student employment process and guidelines, please contact Angie Mancilla, Career Center (Building 97, Room 100), by e-mail at mmancilla@csupomona.edu, or by telephone at extension 2344.
