Strategic Directions and Tactics
- Offer technological and pedagogical services recognized by students, faculty, and staff as responsive, innovative and visionary.
- Recruit and develop instructional design & implementation teams to support faculty course redesign efforts
- Define a clear purpose and mission for MediaVision
- Create a protocol for deciding which video requests can be handled (instruction-related, PR events, etc.) and when we charge
- Promote streaming services to enhance online instruction
- Define a clear purpose and mission for Studio 6
- Examine current and potential use of the existing space, and resources, taking into account faculty needs for privacy
- Determine whom it should serve and in what ways
- Develop closer integration of MediaVision and Studio 6 services
- Provide assistance with a variety of technologies, at a high level of excellence – excellence in terms of reliability, ease of use, quality of support and guidance.
- Clarify relationships with I&IT Applications, Systems, Operations, and Support to ensure that technologies have appropriate technical support
- Review our Blackboard implementation and plan for the future of the campus LMS
- Facilitate the creation of a Blackboard support environment which provides 24x7 system availability and over 99.7% uptime to users
- Plan for the future – prioritization of equipment and software updates
- Create higher demand for our services that are customer-driven through effective marketing. Our goal is that faculty and students will want what we offer, and we will offer what they want.
- Conduct events to draw faculty members into our spaces so that they learn about our offerings
- Find ways to engage the faculty in discussions of what we can offer, what they want, what their students need, etc.
- Continually assess our services in terms of teaching and learning effectiveness
- Market Studio 6 services to students – it’s a unique service that only we provide to students
- Implement ongoing planning and continuous improvement.
- Clarify relationships with partners, including the Faculty Center for Professional Development, TQE, and DMA, and other CSUs, vendors, and other educational institutions in the global arena
- Introduce assessment as a regular part of Learning’s work
- Continue to enhance professional development of the staff
- Facilitate better project management: determine who handles what projects… “What is everyone’s role in the team?”
