To be able to have a course site that meets your instructional goals, it is recommended that faculty use an instructional design method. The simple course site design steps below may be helpful in setting up a Blackboard course site.

  1. Analyse - Be aware of your students' general background, knowledge and their technology skills. Identify what type of computer your students might have.

  2. Plan - Think of and list all documents you want on your course site. Create a flowchart to map out the organization of the course content.

  3. Develop - Start uploading the contents, modifying tools, creating assignments and tests.

  4. Implement - Deliver the contents you have developed and conduct the class activities.

  5. Evaluate - Conduct the regular testing of you course site. Test all the links to make sure they all work. Update the information and check the links and documents regularly to make sure they all still work correctly
