The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) utilizes contractor(s) and the cooperation of Facilities Management, Facilities Customer Service, and the San Gabriel Valley Mosquito & Vector Control District to deal with most rodent and insect issues on campus. Funding is provided from ASI, Cal Poly Pomona Foundation, IPoly High School, Academic Affairs, Administrative Affairs and the President's Office to service most areas on campus. University Housing currently has a separate program.
EH&S responds to all calls regarding indoor and outdoor coyotes, gophers, squirrels, rats, and mice. EH&S also responds to outdoor insects such as wasps, bees, mosquitoes, and ants. Facilities Management responds to deceased animals not killed in traps set by EH&S's contractor(s). The Landscape Services Department pick ups deceased animals outside of buildings, while the Custodial Services Department pick ups deceased animals in buildings.
