Q. Where can I find a person's telephone extension?

A. You can obtain a person's telephone extension via the Campus Telephone Directory:

http://www.csupomona.edu/cgi-bin/intranet/ldap_search.pl (link opens in a new window)

You can also find a person's telephone extension by typing in his/her name in the "Find Contact" box on your Outlook toolbar (top, near the center).

 

Q. Why doesn't my phone connect to other State Agencies?

A. The campus is not on CALNET. You must dial the public number.

General "How to . . ." Questions:

Q. How do I place a call outside of the 909 area code?

A. To place a call outside of the 909 area code:

  • Dial 8 + 1 + area code + the telephone number.

To place an international call:

  • Dial 102 + 011+ country code + city code + the telephone number.

To place a call within the 909 area code:

  • Dial 8 + the 7-digit number.

To place a call to another on-campus phone number:

  • Dial the 4 digit extension number.


Note: The permitted calling area for campus phones varies, and may be restricted to on-campus, local or U.S. only phone numbers.

 

Q. How do I connect to other state agencies?

A. You must dial the full public telephone number; the campus is not on CALNET.

 

Q. How do I program Auto Dial buttons?

A. Note: Only multi-appearance phone terminals have Auto Dial buttons. These buttons can be programmed via the phone.

To program Auto Dial buttons:

  1. Pick up the handset, and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Dial *0.
  3. Press Auto Dial button.
  4. Dial desired phone number.
  5. Press Auto Dial button again.
  6. Listen for the confirmation tone.

Q. I'm having problems retrieving my voicemail messages. What should I do?

A. First check to see if your phone has been forwarded to another number. To cancel call forwarding, Dial #2. If you are still experiencing problems, call X6900.
