iClicker: Software Features
Software Features:
- No software installation is needed. The software is an executable file loaded onto a USB flash drive that plugs directly into your base.
Note: the flash drive is for convenience; you may also download the software from iClicker.com and place it on your hard or network drive.
- An unobtrusive floating menu bar enables you to quickly poll students without interfering with your lecture.
Note: The floating menu bar sits on top of any application (i.e.: PowerPoint, Adobe, Keynote, Word, Flash, etc). You don’t have to re-author or import your lectures into a separate software application.

- To insert a spontaneous question without quitting your presentation, an “On the Fly” text box is available from the floating menu bar. Your screen shot and question data are captured in iGrader for later review and points assignment.

- Registration is free. Students only pay for the hardware and can register in class or online. Because registration is free and even optional, your students can register at any point during the quarter. All of their voting responses will be retroactively correlated to their student ID. You monitor when students are able to register.

- A Settings/Preferences wizard allows you to establish preferences for iClicker and iGrader beforehand. Options enable you to set course management system configurations (i.e.: Blackboard), histogram display and timer options, frequencies and presentation and participation point rules.

- The base logs your students’ responses for easy import into iGrader (the gradebook). With iGrader, you can review and edit your questions and sessions, and assign participation/ attendance and performance points. Grades are easily imported into other applications (such as Excel and Blackboard).

- The screen shot function captures your screen every time you begin polling, making it easy to review your lecture and the questions you are using after class (within iGrader). You can also delete questions and assign points to your students for their voting activity.

- The Term/Session Summary and Review report provides a breakdown of polling data, both for your term-to-date and for individual sessions and questions (including the question and histogram). No individual student scores or votes are included in this report, making it ideal to share with your class as a post-lecture study guide.
- The Student Voting Data report contains grades for your individual students by session and by question. From here you can also access a report of Cumulative Student Scores, which provides you with a review of each student’s performance for each session.

- The software is open source and requires no site license. It is adaptable to your needs and the needs of your students.
