The site contains an extensive collection of original documents ranging from nineteenth century African-American issues to letters from notable personalities.

A Deeper Shade of Black
This is one of the premier resources on African-American history, film, and literature. Created and maintained by Charles Isbell of MIT, it is an excellent resource for biographies, with well-developed accounts of figures such as Thurgood Marshall and Paul Robeson.

Documenting the American South (DAS)
From the University of North Carolina, a collection of sources on Southern history, literature and culture from the colonial period through the first decades of the 20th century. This site includes North American Slave Narratives and The Church in the Southern Black Community.

Writing Black
This site contains texts and resources of literature and history written by and on African Americans.
