Dr. Wang will be leading our third annual Cal Poly Pomona civil engineering study aborad trip from June 19 through July 17, 2009. This trip will be to China and will focus on structural and earthquake engineering. Students will earn 8 units of technical elective credit. For further informaiton, please see the study abroad flyer and the International Center website. The application deadline is January 16, 2009.
This trip is a follow up to our successful trips to the UK in 2007 and to Egypt in 2008.

We also have begun searching for additional new tenure-track faculty, for positions to start in Fall 2009. Applicants may obtain more information from our position announcement.
Enrollments in our Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MSCE) program has grown by 59 percent over the past year. We offer three emphasis areas: Geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, and transportation engineering. Further information on may be found on our graduate program web page. We are now accepting applications for all three emphasis areas. It is best to apply online through the csumentor web site. Professor Gershfeld is the principal investigator for a new project with the Wood Education Institute to develop new curriculum for both college students and practicing professionals. This curriculum will encompass various aspects of wood structure design.
