I&IT will be recognized for providing learning technologies, strategies, leadership and support, all of which enhance teaching, learning, the quality of the student experience, personal productivity, and administrative effectiveness. Learning technologies encompasses instructional and information technology, as well as telecommunications tools, applications, and systems that support learning. I&IT’s leadership in the effective use of technology is grounded in learning principles that guide the selection of pedagogies, technologies, and practices. Measurable outcomes will demonstrate the notable contributions we make to the achievement of the university’s mission.
I&IT will be a key point of campus pride. Faculty, students, and staff will say, “We’re proud of Cal Poly Pomona’s use of technology in teaching and learning.” Students will leave the university able to succeed in the technology-rich environment of the 21st century.
I&IT is a learning-centered organization that can be counted on to provide efficient, effective, reliable, and secure services. We are proud of the work we do and of the I&IT team.
The mission of the Division of Instructional and Information Technology is to provide stewardship, leadership, and service in support of the teaching and learning mission of the university.
I&IT is the steward of the campus information technology infrastructure. Every time a user hears a dial tone, connects to a wireless access point, looks at a login screen for BroncoDirect or Blackboard, or securely enters or uses personal information, we are responsible for making it work, and for the user’s experience.
Because information technology is everybody’s business, I&IT provides strategic leadership, expertise, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement to the university in:
Service is our daily business. The best service is unnoticed – everything works, no complaints. Next best is service that attends to the user’s needs:
