DOLCE

Department and program faculty teams are invited to submit proposals for the development of online or hybrid courses through a special program jointly administered by the Faculty Center for Professional Development and I&IT Learning. Designing Online Learning-Centered Environments (DOLCE) will assist departments and programs in courses available for online or hybrid delivery in a manner that retains academic quality, efficient use of faculty time, and focus on learning-centeredness.  Faculty teams whose proposals are selected for DOLCE will participate in a sustainable and scalable process by which the online and hybrid courses can be developed, implemented, evaluated, improved and reused. arrow up

Digital Media Arts Minor

It’s more than a technology degree, it’s about learning how to think, design and communicate with digital media tools! Technology is a tool for use in educational development; when combined with rigorous coursework, students benefit from a contemporary, world-class education.

The DMA minor affords students the opportunity to approach learning and education from a different methodology. Combining the study of social sciences, the arts, and humanities with digital video, audio, web and other computer technologies, the minor provides students with the creative and technical skills they will need to express concepts, present research and analysis, and communicate within their specific disciplines.arrow up

Success Stories

This symposium, open to all faculty members at Cal Poly Pomona, is an opportunity for colleagues to share their experiences and successes using e-learning technologies to enhance student learning in ways that demonstrate how other faculty can apply the information. We invite you to tell the story of the successes you've had with e-learning. Topics to consider include:

  • on-line or hybrid course models
  • web-assisted courses
  • effective use of a Learning Management System (Blackboard and WebCT)
  • successful use of technology-assisted campus classrooms
  • technology-assisted peer review of writing
  • use of video and audio
  • technology-enhanced group activities
  • use of audience response systems
  • collaboration with other campuses using technology
  • student-created digital media projects
