"Supported" means that the software vendor assures us that the specified browser works.
Empty cells represent combinations that are not officially supported, and have not been tested yet to see if they work.
For BroncoDirect, Blackboard, and WebCT, it is recommended to use supported browsers for critical work, especially if it involves entering data, even if other browsers appear to function.
Blackboard and STARRS require Java for some functions, and they may fail with older or corrupted versions of the Java runtime environment, even if your browser works.

General guidelines
Netscape and Internet Explorer prior to version 4 do not work reliably with many modern web pages.
If Netscape 7 or 8 is a supported browser, Mozilla and Firefox will almost always work, too.
Netscape 4 or Netscape 6 users on Windows should use Internet Explorer for BroncoDirect, and upgrade to Firefox, Mozilla, Opera, or Netscape 8 to replace Netscape 4 or 6.
Netscape 4 or Netscape 6 users on Macintosh should use Internet Explorer or Safari for BroncoDirect, and upgrade to Firefox, Mozilla, or Opera to replace Netscape 4 or 6.
Almost every browser, ancient or modern, is available at the evolt.org Browser Archive. These are primarily intended for use by web developers, and they are not supported by Cal Poly Pomona.
