Lyle Center Names its Faculty Fellows for 2007-08 - added 2/25/08

Dr. Edward Bobich Professor Robert C. Perry, FASLA

The John T. Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies at Cal Poly Pomona University has named Dr. Edward G. Bobich (left) and Professor Robert C. Perry (right) as Lyle Center Faculty Fellows for 2007 08. Dr.  Bobich, an Assistant Professor in the Department of biological Sciences, is studying seed germination and seedling development of Southern California black walnut (Juglans californica). Robert Perry, a Professor Emeritus and Lecturer in the Department of Landscape Architecture, is developing a clear and quantifiable framework for the measurement of carbon storage and carbon release through fossil fuel consumption associated with urban landscape plantings.

Bocce Ball Court Opens at the Center - added 5/02/07

Landscape Architecture students, working with Assistant Professor Andy Wilcox, designed and installed a new Bocce Ball court in the permaculture garden at the Center. The design illustrates ecological functioning by capturing and directing rainwater runoff into a series of planting beds, while also providing a wonderful recreational resource at the Center. Bocce balls can be checked out by students, faculty and staff through the Center's main office.
